  • African-Americans with glioblastoma (GBM) exhibit higher survival than Whites with GBM, however only when Karnofsky performance score (KPS) ≥ 80.

Why this matters

  • There is poor understanding of race-based biological differences in gliomas; this study helps to uncover the genetics that underlie longer survival in African-Americans.
