Takeaway
In people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) neuropathy, both stretching and proprioceptive exercise (SPE) and treadmill training had an objective benefit without causing overwork weakness.
Why this matters
To date there is no effective therapy for CMT and the efficacy of rehabilitation is unclear. The objective benefit of SPE and treadmill training shown in this study highlights the advantage of people with CMT undergoing rehabilitation treatment which may also prevent secondary impairments and maximize remaining abilities.
