Evaluation of sleep disturbances and their impact on quality of life in untreated pituitary tumor and meningioma

  • In adults with untreated pituitary tumor or meningioma, insomnia, poor sleep quality, and disrupted circadian rhythms are highly prevalent, but tumor location may not be related to sleep changes.

Why this matters

Sleep disturbances are highly prevalent in patients with brain tumors but are often overlooked in those with primary nonmalignant brain tumors. Results from this study indicate that mitigating sleep disturbances is important for improved quality of life (QOL) in patients with pituitary tumors or meningiomas.
