Following ischemic stroke, cerebral microbleeds are associated with unfavorable outcomes

Following ischemic stroke (IS), patients treated with anticoagulant therapy often have cerebral microbleeds (CMBs). Researchers at the Department of Neurology and Stroke Center, University of Basel, Switzerland, have shown that the frequency of CMBs may be related to the type of anticoagulant used and that they may be associated with negative outcomes.
