    Older blacks have increased risk for cognitive impairment and dementia but the reasons for the racial disparities are unknown. There are currently no available treatments for limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy neuropathologic change; however, better understanding of racial differences could identify novel therapeutic targets and ultimately improve health care in this at-risk population.
