Optical coherence tomography may be sensitive enough to assess idiopathic intracranial hypertension

  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is sensitive enough to evaluate the risk of relapse and treatment in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) with and without papilledema.

Why this matters

  • OCT has demonstrated enough sensitivity to evaluate IIH with and without papilledema, however specific parameters to aid in decision making for therapy and prevention of relapses has not yet been assessed.
