The health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among individuals with peripheral vestibular (PV) disorder was reduced when compared with individuals with central (CV) or episodic vestibular disorders (EV).
Why this matters
Vertigo and dizziness are symptoms that can impact the well-being and HRQoL of individuals with acute vestibular disorders. These symptoms can manifest physically as falls and loss of mobility or psychologically as anxiety, panic disorders and depression. The results of this study can impact the treatment of individuals with different vestibular disorders as well as how functional endpoints for future clinical studies in acute vestibulopathies are defined.
