Reliability of Using Exercised-Induced Hypoalgesia

  • Exercised-induced hypoalgesia (EIH) has greater reliability at physically local sites and is affected by the sex of the person.

Why this matters

  • Aerobic exercise such as cycling causes EIH, specifically in the muscles that were being used the most and may be a potential way to treat pain.

  • However, the information about test-retest and with-in subject reliability of EIH, which would be necessary for clinical trials, is unknown.
