Specific genetic alterations of breast tumors lead to Yo paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration

neurodiem-image

Previous findings of research groups in Paris and Lyon, France, investigated the genetic basis of paraneoplastic cerebellar degenerations with anti-Yo antibodies (Yo-PCD) associated with ovarian cancers. Recent results suggest that this auto-immune response against neuronal antigens expressed by tumor cells is also associated with a distinct class of hormone receptor-negative HER2-enriched breast cancers.
