Dr Reinhold Schmidt is Professor of Neurology and Chairman of the Clinical Department of Neurogeriatrics at the Medical University of Graz in Austria. His clinical and research interests include the management and treatment of dementia combined with cerebrovascular diseases, and the pathophysiology of vascular cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Professor Schmidt is a member of the management board of the dementia and cognitive disorders panel of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), Honorary President of the Austrian Society of Neurology, and a past president of the Austrian Neurological Society. He has published more than 405 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with over 23,000 citations, an impact factor of 2,439, and an h-index of 77.
